hey hey hey, its been awhile. Lots going on. End of the school year, this weekend is memorial day weekend, and i should be studying for my chemistry final. BUt, who wants to study when they can party! yeah! sounds like fun, right?! of course it does. anyways, Friday night i went to the yearbook signing party and then to hacienda with some friends, it was alot of fun. I really like all those kids, including Anne, she is from Norway and we just realized how cool she really is, too bad she is leaving in two weeks. Then after hacienda i rented movies from blockbuster, went home and watched them by myself, cuz i wanted to go to bed early. I woke up saturday to go to work at 8. It was a pretty bad work day, but was lifted by a good evening life. I went to the olive garden with my family to see my brother in action(he is a server there) and that was cool. My dad's g/f's daughter is an incoming freshman at memorial and made the cheerleeding squad, thats really cool. cuz she is so quiet and all. My aunt from St. Louis was here and i love her alot. she is the best. My g-ma is as spunky as ever, and it was a nice change of pace. After dinner i went over to Nate's for a lil house party....that was fun....we will leave it at that.(there is nothing better than fun people in a fun atmosphere.)
I also went to a party in concord but left shortly after we arrived and went back to Nate's. WEnt to bed pretty early this morning and woke up not too long after. so i went back into work and had an okay day, but am exhausted. just went to Ava cross's grad party and i am about to get in the shower so i can head on over to Ryan's! yeah! so thats it for now.

Happy Birthday Erin! the BIG 19! whoo hoo.
Started things off tonight by going to the Texas Roadhouse to see Mr. MIsener in the Andy the Armadillo costume for the very last time. It was great, we hugged him and he did the andy dance. It was great, i think it made my week. We took pictures so dont worry if you missed out. Apparently he was really sick under there considering the heat and all. He should have been standing outside in the nice cool air. It was really funny, i couldn't stop laughing, cuz i knew he was dying under that thing. Congrats ryan, you are a super trooper!

Then Me, Erin, Ant, and Katie went over to Perkins for a birthday dinner. It was lovely. Shared stories of old and new. It was really an enjoyable atmosphere. I am so happy that Erin's friends are back to hang out with her. For awhile it was just me and Erin and i dont think that was enough for her anymore, i can understand that. It would suck to have your friends your own age gone away to school. Things will be different next year, she will be right at home at IU i think.

After dinner, KAtie and Ant said their goodbyes and me and erin headed over to Encore to see when Shrek 2 was playing next. We got there at 7:46 and it started at 7:45 so talk about timing. It was a great movie! It really lived up to what we expected. Antonio Banderas as Puss n' Boots was hilarious, probably my favorite character. The gingerbread man has more of a role in this one and things get interesting. Julie Andrews is a voice, how about that? it was just a really funny movie and a good plot. Two thumbs up for all the kids inside. The music is also awesome, i am so going to get the soundtrack! lots of remixes and original songs, it was truly great.

For erin's birthday i got her a book full of Elvis Quotes, all from throughout his life. ITs really neat, it has pictures and timelines and stuff, really a good pick for erin. I think anyway, hopefully she liked it, i mean she could just be nice to save my feelings, like she did to her mom. We wont go there. lol. just be honest...hahaha.

You are all beautiful, and if i haven't told you lately, that i love you......then just wait a lil longer i will say it soon. keep it real. til next time...

Hey yall! i know, its been a while, i am just not good at writing or keeping things in order. I lack outstanding organizational skills, thats why i decided interior design was not the direction i wanted to go into for school. Oh well.

Ms. Beigel in chemistry cracks me up. I love to hate that class, i really do. I get alot of my laughs from that class. It makes me smile. Today, she wanted to mix things up in the lab, instead of what she calls, "cookbook labs" she wanted us to do a "do it yourself lab". i am not a fan. I dont like coming up with my own procedures and experiments and all that stuff, not my style, i can follow recipes much better. so in the middle of the lab i was staring at the NaCl salt in the distilled water watching and waiting for it to dissolve when i just randomly shouted, "COOKBOOKS!" like a kid with teretz(sp? is god awful i know) and kevin about lost it. Also while trying to manuever around a huge trash can, that we put up on the lab table to block the wind from the open flame, i hit my head on the low overhead cabinet corner. so jokingly i started to exaggerate my injury to freak out ms. beigel, all i heard from her was, "dont get blood in the salt sample". it was hilarious. i guess you just had to be there.

exactly two more weeks til school ends...not soon enough! ugh!
i have waited 12 years, whats two more weeks, right? lol. i think i will manage. Senior banquet was monday. I got a superlative, isn't that the neatest. I got "most like to HOST MTV" on the senior superlative lkist, so i am happy. Those things are usually reserved for the really popular kids, not the in between kids like me. so thats cool, that we can all get together..lol. haha. peace, love, and equality. lol.

natural beauty and the beauty of nature

Another day, closer to the end of highschool. Last year at the thought of ending it all seemed sad, now it seems exciting. I think I'm ready for that chapter to be closed, finally. There will always be someone telling me, hold on to the memories they wont last forever. Yea they will. Thats the beauty of a memory, they last. kinda funny how it works. lol I am happy to take advantage of everything the end has to offer, and no i dont mean the end of the world, i mean the end of highschool. Its important to me to cherish it and to move on, i think its healthy to be attached to a learning institution and to be able to leave it behind, usually thats what the facility does itself, teaches you how to be independent from its walls. i dont know if that makes sense to any of you, but i get it. i get that its okay to leave and move on and still hold tight to the things that you learned while you were there. i guess thats the whole idea of public education, and it only took me 13 years to figure out...lol.

These are the kind of things i think about. and they mean alot to me even though they dont to you. thats cool, you have your own thing, i wouldn't want you to understand completely, but i would want you to respect my feelings and thoughts. cuz although i may not have the most intelligent things to say and dont contribute as much as someone else, i do matter, no matter what anyone says. i am here, and i am not going anywhere til the almighty takes his hands and pulls me off this earth. I am Shannon Bontrager, and i am somebody. dont forget that, cuz i haven't.

Hey yall! Its monday, and I am oh so tired. Had a very busy weekend, full of laughs and dancing. I hope you all had a good time this weekend, with whatever you have been doing, i am sure it has been great. I will tell you about my great weekend, but for now, its gunna have to wait! so take it easy.

Its the time of year again, its prom time! yea! its a beautiful day and the town is buzzing with flower orders, hairspray and camera flashes. This is only my second prom experience. Last year, if i recall, it was kinda chilly and dreary but nice by nightfall, but then again i could be wrong. This year is comfortably warm and sunny, nice day overall. I got my hair done at the hairdressers in Cass. I'm not crazy, my hairdresser works at this salon called, Just Hair in Cass, and I like what she does. Plus i only paid 30 for everything, and here in Elkhart, where i went last year i paid 50! so i think i got a better deal and a better hair style. so i am happy. Central's prom is next weekend so there isn't a whole slew of teens rushing around to get prom stuff. i am excited, but i am kinda tired and i can't sleep or i will mess my hair up, that sounds so pathetic but its true. but this was just a quickie, and i will update after the weekend and all the prom festivities. til next time...

okay okay, i was a lil heated the last time i blogged, thats why i am no longer drinking and blogging, i mean that just has to end..lol. cuz you know me i like to booze it up in the middle of the school day and all...but it was a subject that just touched me the wrong way, not a fan. enough said. Time is flying by....its so great. things are just so grand lately, despite the recent band debacles, but you know whateva. I am in search of a full time summer job that i can add to my list of responsibilities. you know any good places? just messing. i was thinking about going to the Point(cedar point) later this month and i am excited to see if it is possible. right now its just me and ellyn for sure who would want to but anyone else would be more than welcome to come, they might have to drive themselves, but i am sure that wouldn't be that big of a deal. i love cedar point, i have had nothing but good memories, last time i went was during Halloweekends, and it was jammed packed. i went with lindsay, danielle,and callie....it was fun, but we only got to ride three things, dragster, raptor, and millenium. good rides just not a lot to choose from cuz alot of things were closed. i didn't get to ride magnum at all last year both times i went. i am not complaining or anything, but that is like my favorite coaster of all time....its just so consistent. you can't beat a classic. i like dragster and millenium and they are great coasters full of action but magnum has it all and you cant beat that. just a classic. fantabulous! anywho...i am not going to cedar point after prom, seems kind of overdone, plus no one i hang out with is really going that route. I was invited to Ed's cabin on lake michigan but alot of my friends will be staying back in etown in search of other after prom endeavors, so i think i might do that...but i am not sure yet. i am sure i will have fun no matter what happens, it is gunna be a good prom this year, just good times with friends. all my friends are going with others friends so this year wont be a couple infested prom like last year. not that that is bad just not what all of us want right now i think the group is mostly a single oriented group right now. I wont be missing the monday after prom either cuz i can't miss any more days of school if i want to be eligible for my red day finals. that would include chemistry and discrete, so i need to show up to get those. its a bummer, but what would i have done anyway? plus most of the kids will be gone making my classes super easy and bonus points for showing up is good too. I finally got the whole IU mix up fixed up...lol. apparently upon admission to the university they filed me under the wrong birthdate, causing a constant error everytime i tried to sign up for certain programs and services. for a lil while i thought i wasn't really student but they were taking my money and it was this huge giant conspiracy, but nope....just a typo. not as exciting i know but hey caused alot of excitement in the Bontrager household. Dont worry i am really a student and to much of your relief i will be attending classes next fall....lol. well i got to go switch it up the xanga for the word of the day...so check it out! sign the guestbook bitches! til next time...

Hypocrits suck. I dont know how people can say one thing with feeling, and then go off and do another. Its like "oh this isn't as bad as that..." okay thats fine, whatever. but do not say that if someone does something that you dissaprove of, something you do to a different extent, isn't just as bad. its all relative. you absolutely can have one with the other, but you can't act like curiousity hasn't gotten the best of you. whether it be a different degree of bad or not, its still bad. so if you are gunna praise one and denounce the other, than that makes you a hyprocrit, m'kay. dont talk to me, you know who you are.

this is what i do

I am on the computer all the time, this can't be healthy. I need to stop. Write now i have two online journals(both suck by the way) and no social life. Thats not true but i have been on this computer way too long. how can people do this to themselves, i can't be one of those people. you know, the people who like have all their meals delivered to their house and eat and sleep by the computer and go into chat rooms and goes on cyber dates, whats wrong with you people?! I made a xanga, and i dont know whats up with that, but i am gunna perfect it, or at least try. I also saw kill bill vol. 2 this past weekend and it kicked ass. Quentin Tarentino is a crazy fuck but i like him. The only movie i disliked of his was Jackie Brown, that was gay. ah well. no harm. i am gunna go but please sign the guestbook with comments, concerns, or quetions you have for me. except you collin, stop leaving your dune infested thoughts in my book, we dont want your kind in there.
