Blog Homework #7
The site we were directed to see is the internet games tab on Ebay. There is a little over 19,000 items for sale on this site. The first page of results ranged in price from a massive $900.00 to a single penny. The 19,000 items were all put up for sale just on today's date. The speed that these items are selling is so rapid that the sellers can almost put any price they like. This conveys to me that people are getting so caught up in the madness of the convenience that Ebay brings with buying/trading/selling products that they are losing track of their financial responsibilities. who would pay a quick $900 bucks for a jedi action figure? seriously. what has happened to this society?! i am sure people's personal economic situation is in their hands not ours. American culture is summed up in Ebay i think. No actual interaction between the buyer and seller, this is the wave of the future. Americans hate to interact with people, its official. we suck. Ebay is a clear example of that. if you really want priceless and rare items go on a road trip or something and make it mean something, dont throw your money into a company that has no personal interaction. This is just me talking. but thats what i think.
